The UC-Davis/SDSU ERP Boot Camp is a 10-day intensive introduction to the ERP technique, organized and led by Steve Luck and Emily Kappenman with additional lectures by other ERP experts. It is held every summer at UC-Davis or SDSU.
Important Announcement about the 2024 ERP Boot Camp
We are disappointed to announce that we will not be holding a regular 10-day ERP Boot Camp this summer.
We have held Boot Camps nearly every summer since 2007, supported by a series of generous grants from NIMH that allowed us to provide scholarships for all attendees. Unfortunately, although our recent renewal proposal received extremely positive reviews and scores, we were recently given the surprising and disappointing news that the renewal will not be funded this year. We believe that the ERP Boot Camp provides essential training to the field, and we will continue to pursue financial support to continue holding 10-day ERP Boot Camps in the future.
In the meantime, we have partial funding that will allow us to hold a 5-day ERP Boot Camp this summer from July 8-12, 2024 in Davis, California. The workshop will include 5-days of lectures and activities on EEG and ERP measures, including practical and theoretical issues. For more information, see https://erpinfo.org/2024-erp-boot-camp. Registration is now full. Click here for information about our waitlist and other training options.
If you would like to receive announcements about upcoming boot camps, join our email list. If you have any questions after reading this page and the application information page, please email us at erpbootcamp@gmail.com.
Funded by grant R25MH080794 from the National Institute of Mental Health.
COVID Information: We are currently planning to hold the 2024 Boot Camp entirely in person (to maximize learning and networking). We will implement whatever safety measures are warranted at the time of the workshop.

Individual consultations with expert faculty
Small-group "dissections" of journal articles
Break-out groups on special topics
Social events for networking and developing collaborations
We focus on providing a deep understanding of the conceptual issues involved in ERP research, not specific software packages. If you are interested in getting practical experience analyzing EEG and ERP data with EEGLAB and ERPLAB, see Steve Luck’s latest book: Applied ERP Data Analysis.
Participants and Application Information
Participants at previous Boot Camps have come from around the world and have ranged from beginning graduate students to full professors. They have included psychologists, neuroscientists, psychiatrists, neurologists, linguists, speech pathologists, audiologists, and more.
We encourage the participation of individuals from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups. We are happy to accommodate people with disabilities.
